A Ladder is Climbed

They say its not worth it to live
if some contemplation you don't give
to the circumstance surrounding your birth
and qualities that make up the earth
and the attributes that give a thing worth
and the ebb and the flow of the surf.
So he tries real hard to figure it out
thinking that he will eventually shout
joyous answers to the troubles of mind
for the benefit of all of mankind
from the cave into the brightest sunshine
dispersing all the chains and the lines
but first of all his task is to find.
So he'll listen reall close to his friends
put his eye up to the lens
and pour through all the books on the shelf
and look so hard way deep in him self
and forget all about money and health.
He'll push and reach from his soul
feeling for some kind of hole
between his mind and the world
between what's said and what's heard
through which reality swirls
and truth is found like a pearl
except inverted and surrounding the oyster
that's sheltered from the world buy its calcium cloister
trapped in the perpetual whirl
of logic's circles and curls.
What is he looking for
staring off into space?
Doesn't he know that all we know we've always known forever?
The search for truth is just a waste.
How can he help himself?
He can see the void and what is lacking there.
Yes he knows the void that it will always be there forever
but it's beautiful.
Sitting under a tree
a mind thats completely free
sees as everything slides
together from all sides
and all dimensions and times
order themselves crystaline
and then a ladder is climbed.
Now he shouts from the level he's found
but to most his words don't make any sound
or they sound like the tune of a fiddle
or they sound like a frightening riddle
or they're silly and they don't mean diddle
or are accused of being hollow in the middle
by the people below now so little.
What is he talking about?
What does it matter to me?
I can see the void and he has not done anything to fill it
Why won't he just let us be?
He cannot help himself.
If you don't care then he's not talking to you
he knows the void that it will always be there forever
but its beautiful
thats all just beautiful.
